FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there additional costs?

All rentals must be Paid for in full at the time of booking. A further security deposit of 100 euro is required. In the event of loss or damage to equipment. This deposit will be returned after we have received back all our equipment in good order.

What do I need to bring?

For your own comfort we ask that you bring a towel, swimsuit and footwear – preferably runners (not flipflops) which will get wet. A wind or waterproof jacket is also advisable and an extra jumper or fleece, for use while on the water, during colder months. We also advise a change of clothing as back up. If camping we advise you bring sleeping bags, pillows, food supplies, maybe a portable cooking unit

Is safety equipment provided?

Buoyancy aids and helmets are provided, it is a legal requirement that you wear your buoyancy aid at all times when on the water. Helmets can also be provided.

Is Paddle Your Own Canoe Insured?

Paddle your own canoe does not have any form of insurance or cover for either health or injury risks or stolen or lost property, it is advised that if you want insurance to take out yearly holiday insurance that will provide cover for this type of activity.

What do we do with Our Canoes at the end of our Trip?

Canoes can be picked up from where you finish. However you may be asked to secure them until we can get there.

What if my Equipment & Clothes get wet?

We also supply barrels and drybags to protect your belongings. We also highly recommend each person in the party brings a change of waterproof clothing and a spare set of clothes in the event of bad weather as we do go out in most weather settings.
